How The Coffee Ride Club Started
There is something special about sitting down for a coffee during a ride.
It sounds simple. Almost too simple to build a whole brand around. But maybe that is exactly why it matters.
The simplicity brings us together. Once we sit around the tables, it feels like the world is standing still for a while.
Speed does not matter.
The powermeters fall asleep.
Someone orders flat white. Someone else a simple black coffee and a piece of cake. The conversations starts without a clear goal a mind or a direction where to go, it just flows.
Life. Work. Family. A race. A bad week. A really good week. Or absolutely nothing at all.
And sometimes you find yourself deep into a conversation with someone you probably would never have met anywhere else.
Cycling is, just as modern life in general, incredibly fast and performance-driven.
Everything is getting faster.
Everything is optimised.
Everyone is short in time.
We meet people through screens. We message instead of talking. We spend less time with people we actually care about.
But then you go for a ride. Alone, with a friend, a group or maybe even with someone you met halfway.
You sit down somewhere you've never been before. Someone you don't know says "Hi". And suddenly you're sharing a table.
Easy connection but honest.
The opportunity for a conversation to stay completely superficial or unexpectedly become really deep.
Our differences don't disappear but they simply stop being important.
There is a seat at the table for everyone.
So, why The Coffee Ride Club?
Because we wanted to build something around that feeling of belonging.
Not something that is defined by a membership card.
No FTP requirement.
No dress code.
No entry barrier.
It's about the feeling of belonging, of a warmth welcome without the fear of rejection or not being good enough.
